Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how GlassCue ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our floating teleprompter application for Android. GlassCue is built for content creators who need to read a script while recording, and we've designed it to work fully offline with no account or sign-up required.

Information We Collect

GlassCue does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your scripts, personal identity, or any content you type into the App to our servers. Your scripts and settings are stored locally on your device only, using encrypted local storage.

App Permissions and Why We Need Them

Analytics and Crash Reporting

GlassCue uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand general, anonymized feature usage (such as which modes are used) and to automatically detect and fix crashes. These tools may collect standard device and diagnostic information (such as device model, OS version, and crash logs) but do not collect your script content or any personally identifiable information. This data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

Data Storage and Security

All scripts, preferences, and session history you create in GlassCue are stored locally on your device using Android's encrypted storage mechanisms. We do not operate a cloud backend for user content, and nothing you type into the App is uploaded to any server we control.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third-party services used are Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, described above.

Advertising

GlassCue does not display advertisements.

Children's Privacy

GlassCue is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can revoke Camera, Microphone, or Overlay permissions at any time through your device's Settings. Doing so may disable related features but will not affect the rest of the App's functionality. You can also delete all locally stored script data at any time by clearing the App's storage from Android Settings, or by uninstalling the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
